The law's principal goal is to provide people with better access to information on the interactions between their doctors and nurses and producers of life sciences, such as firms that make medical equipment. According to the Physician Payment Sunshine Act , "Physicians" and "Teaching Institutions" must be disclosed when medical device manufacturers pay them or transfer value to them.
